Product FAQ's

Q: Are these 1/2" plates safe for all calibers?

A: Yes. Bash Target Supply 1/2" thick AR500 steel handles all calibers with ease. Always adhere to safe shooting distances for handguns and rifles. At impact bullet speed needs to be less than 3000 fps and energy less than 4500 ft lbs. Plates should be hung at an angle to safely deflect all bullet fragments to the ground.

Q: What size bolts work best with 3/8" chain and straps?

A: Standard 1/2-inch carriage bolts pair seamlessly with these chains or straps to secure both your target stands and AR500 gongs. These are included with your kit.

Q: Do the chains and straps come cut to specific lengths?

A: These are sold to fit standard hanging requirements for common target setups. Our chains and straps are 15" long. If you need custom lengths for your specific target stand configuration, they can easily be cut or linked using standard shop tools.

Q: Can I leave these chains or straps hanging outdoors year-round?

A: The chains are built with weather-resistant steel and powder coated to endure outdoor range conditions. However, storing your target hardware in a dry area when not in use will help prevent normal surface oxidation and extend their lifespan.

Ensure your shooting range setup is built to last with heavy-duty 3/8" Round Chains or our 3/8" thick heavy duty multi-ply rubber straps from Bash Target Supply. Specifically engineered for hanging AR500 steel targets, gongs, and silhouettes, these high-strength steel chains or straps absorb the punishing kinetic energy of high-caliber rounds while providing a natural, responsive swing with every accurate hit. Bash Target Supply precision laser cut 1/2" AR500 Steel Targets safely handle all calibers. Bullet speed needs to be managed to less than 3000 fps and energy less than 4500 ft lbs at impact. Always follow safe shooting distances for handguns and rifles.

Standard hardware-store chain often shatters or weakens under direct spall and high-velocity impacts. Our 3/8-inch links offer the ideal balance of heavy-duty thickness and flexibility, standing up to rigorous use from pistols and rifles alike. Whether you are setting up a private backyard range or outfitting a professional training facility, reliable hanging chains or straps keep your targets securely suspended and facing downrange.

Key Features & Specifications:

Heavy-Duty 3/8-Inch Thickness for either the chains or straps: Built robustly to handle the kinetic energy and occasional stray spall from high-powered rifle and pistol training.

Optimal Target Movement: Allows AR500 gongs and silhouettes to swing freely, dispersing impact energy and dramatically increasing target longevity.

Corrosion-Resistant Build: Durable steel construction designed to withstand outdoor elements, rain, and storage between range days.

Versatile Range Application: Easily paired with Bash Target Supply hooks, rings, bolts, and 2x4 target stands for a secure, professional setup.
