A: Yes! The Strap & Chain Hardware kit is universally compatible with standard round gongs, square targets, and silhouette cutouts featuring standard mounting holes. Holes should be laser cut to accept 1/2" carriage bolts.

Q: Are chains or straps better for hanging steel targets?

A: Both have distinct advantages. Our Grade 80 chains offer maximum durability and a satisfying target swing, while heavy-duty rubber or nylon straps provide exceptional shock absorption and reduce the risk of ricochets from stray spall striking the hardware. This kit gives you reliable options for a clean, secure hang on either chains or straps.

Q: Will bullet impacts destroy the mounting hardware?

A: While direct hits from high-powered rifle rounds can occasionally nick or wear down exposed hardware over extensive use, the kit is designed to tuck safely behind or slightly above the primary target strike face where possible. Replacement hardware packs are always available if individual links or bolts take direct fire. Typically, a Grade 8 bolt head can take 4-10 direct hits before replacing.

Q: What tools are needed to install this hardware at the range?

A: Standard basic wrenches or a socket set are all you need to securely fasten the bolts and nuts through your target and stand brackets. The setup takes just a couple of minutes. 3/4" wrench or socket size for the nuts.

Q: Can I leave this hardware mounted outdoors on my target stand?

A: Yes. The components feature corrosion-resistant finishes designed to withstand outdoor weather. However, storing your steel targets and hardware indoors when not in use will maximize their lifespan.
